P-47 Thunderbolts strafe Italian trains during WWII. This was Operation Strangle, an operation by 12th Air Force that ran from 19 March 1944 to 11 May 1944. The aim was to prevent supplies from reaching the Wehrmacht defends of the Monte Cassino winter line prior to the Allied assault in late May 1944.
